Double Check Chess Puzzles

A double check happens when a single move delivers check from two pieces at once — almost always a piece that moves to give check directly, uncovering a second, different piece that was already lined up on the king along a rank, file, or diagonal. Because two attackers are involved, the king can never respond by capturing one checking piece or blocking one checking line — both would still leave the other check standing.
