Mate in 2 Chess Puzzles

Mate-in-2 puzzles ask you to find a forcing move, correctly anticipate the only defense, and then deliver checkmate on your very next move — a small but real step up in calculation from mate-in-1, since you have to see one full move further and account for the opponent's best try at escaping.

Objective

Find the winning sequence that leads to checkmate in two moves.

Understanding Mate in 2

Start by looking for checks, captures, and threats that leave the opponent with the fewest possible replies — the fewer legal responses they have, the easier it is to calculate all the way to mate. Then, for each of their replies, confirm you still have a move that finishes the game.
